Over the past year, Barra has responded to the challenges that leaders, organizations, and communities are facing in this current moment through immediate support for our grantee partners, emerging collaborative funding efforts, and longer-term solutions that build resiliency for our region and the nonprofit sector. So far, we have distributed nearly $1.5 million additional dollars — above and beyond our annual grantmaking and impact investing dollars — to the following initiatives:
- $340,000 in one-time payments to our Catalyst Fund and Mission-Aligned Investing partners
- $600,000 to pooled funding initiatives strengthening the nonprofit ecosystem, including support for leaders of color, immigrant communities, and nonprofit-serving intermediary organizations
- $550,000 in emergency food support during the intersection of federal SNAP cuts, the government shutdown, and a surge in food insecurity
As we move into 2026, Barra remains steadfastly committed to our communities in the Greater Philadelphia region. Thank you for always sharing, educating, trusting, and challenging us to grow in our work together. We are immensely grateful to be in partnership with you and will continue to provide updates as our work evolves.
